The EIWA head coaches have voted to name Jesse Jantzen of Harvard as EIWA Wrestler of the Year.
Jantzen was a four time EIWA finalist and won his third EIWA title at 149 pounds two weeks ago. He followed that up this past weekend by winning an NCAA title at St Louis and being named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. He compiled a record of 39-1 on the season, with his only loss coming up a weight at 157 to Alex Tirapelle of Illinois.

Ogunwole Named EIWA Freshman of the Year
Harvard freshman Bode Ogunwole has been named EIWA Freshman Wrestler of the Year by the EIWA coaches.
Ogunwole took over the starting role at heavyweight in mid-season when Jonas Corl was injured. He improved rapidly and placed third at the EIWA Tournament, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. He won his first two bouts at Nationals when he defeated both the #9 and #8 seeds. In the quarterfinals, he gave eventual champion Tommy Rowlands of Ohio State all he could handle, scoring the first takedown before falling 8-6. He finished the tournament just one bout short of All-American status
